Border Update!

Coming home from the Thanksgiving weekend we realized how in-efficient and poorly utilized the U.S. Border Patrol and U.S. Customs really are.  The wait to get into the U.S.A. was well over an hour just to get though customs.  This was a complete waste of time considering the fact that we saw only about six other cars on the way back from Rocky Point.  U.S. Customs had everyone just sitting there for way too long.  The traffic in the Sonoyta area was lousy because of it.  Then about 60 miles further we ran into the check point in between Ajo and Gila Bend  It was already dark with a traffic jam of about 4 miles and and hour just to be asked what our nationality is.  I can tell you that any illegal aliens would have jumped from their cars and walked around the checkpoint in the dark only to get back in the cars just past the checkpoint.  This was a complete joke and it is obvious that they really don't want to catch anyone.  We have watched over the last four years the effectiveness of the border patrol drop to a complete waste of tax payer dollars.  It took us over 6 hours to get home.....It's usually only about 3.5 to 4 hours.

We enjoy fishing throughout Arizona and the Sea of Cortez and invite you to browse though our web site to view the beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife that we see while spending our days fishing.  Feel free to send us your fishing reports or water conditions that you observe and we will post them so that all of our readers can see the state of our fishery.

Here is Shawn with a couple handfuls of Baqueta (Gulf Coney) and Ryan with a great Pinto Bass (Spotted Cabrilla)

Murphy Girl is a private not for hire Sport fishing vessel based out of Puerto Penasco, Mexico.  Owners Shawn and Tina Gustafson named her after their late German Short Hair Pointer Murphy.  These days you will find their dogs Montana and Sarah (The Pointer Sisters) lounging on the boat while Shawn, Tina, Ryan and his wife Christine fish the Sea of Cortez.
